Chris Lewis gets 13 years

Chris Lewis, the former Leicestershire and England cricketer, has been convicted of smuggling cocaine into Britain.

Thirteen years sounds steep to me. And, though it does not excuse him, my favourite memory of Lewis is seeing him in the nets at Grace Road (Leicestershire's county ground) with a queue of boys waiting to bowl to him.

Not many test players would bother to do that.

After reading the comments it seems that either one Lewis or Kirnon was lying. I think I know which one. Very unfortunate. I hope this sends a signal to those who want to get rich quick the illigal way. i will be praying for both of them.

Don't worry, he'll be out after three under Labour's "tough on crime" policy.

Why did you say that?

Your comment shows a distinct lack of understanding of the penal system.

A sad end to a sorry tale for Lewis, he never reached his early promise.
